First (of many) Camping Trip
Yeah for us! We took our first successful camping trip this weekend. After only 10 trips back and forth from the house to the campsite with "baby stuff" and camping gear, we finally settled in Friday night. It was a weekend full of rest, eating, and just plain enjoying our family time. As usual we loved be outside. The Saturday activities included: grilling out, feeding the ducks, taking walks, watching movies, listening to the draft, and playing in our jumparoo!
At the end of the day Jake was soooo tired he fell asleep in Daddy's arms!
Feeding the ducks by the lake. The white one was "husky" and a bit aggressive about his dinner. It reminded us of Doc.

My three favorite things: jumping, being naked, and playing outside.

Playing with Daddy and laughing really hard.

Playing with Mommy, and we really like to fly!

Our stroll around the campsite.

With the first pick....
In the 2031 NFL draft, the Dallas Cowboys (after trading up 31 spots) select Baylor quarterback, Jake McCormick of Waco.
Mommy and Daddy's retirement plan kicking into action.

Reading with Daddy
Jake already LOVES books and especially when he is read to. Josh does a great job making him laugh REALLY loud when he reads to him. His favorite book is Cat in the Hat. The little booger laughs uncontrollably when you read it to him. Josh is also reading a book called Catalina Magdalena. This book was found by his Mimi. Gampers, Josh, and Uncle Jeremy always sing this funny song together, and Colleen found the book online to match it. What a great story to pass on. These are action shots, so sorry some of them are "turned" around!

Just Playin' Around!
I love to play and just wanted to show off a few of my favorite toys and tricks!

Happy 70th Birthday Nanny!
Today is Nanny's 7oth birthday, and Jake, Josh, and I all want to wish her a happy one! We celebrated yesterday with cake, chips, and of course BURNT hot dogs (our favorite). Have fun on your cruise and once again Happy Birthday!

Ride on my Case Tractor with Gampers
Yesterday I took my first ride on my Case tractor with Gampers. It was a nice, sunny day; perfect conditions for my trip around the yard. Gampers took it nice and slow, and I can't wait until I get to ride it even longer, and of course faster. Maybe one day Gampers will let me drive!

My First Protest-Where is the TEA?
My serious men at the TEA protest on April 15th. Josh is sleeping right now, otherwise he would write the blog for this one. He is a passionate American, and more importantly Texan. When he gets a chance I will leave a space for him to write a few lines about Jake's first protest!

Matching "teaed off" stickers.

Tuckered Little Fella

The last two days have been crazy. A trip to McKinney, Sherman, a protest. What is boy to do, but sleep. Last night and tonight he fell asleep in my arms after his last snack for the night. I had to carry him to bed. He is just sooooooo worn out! Of course I took a moment to take pictures of him "knocked out".

Precious Nana
This past July my Nana moved to Sherman which is a town north of McKinney. Yesterday Jake and I made a trip to visit her. She is very dear to our family and precious to her grandchildren. She celebrated her 87th birthday this year. Jake is her fifth great grandchild (4 boys and one girl). I fear Gracie will always be out numbered! She hasn't been feeling well lately, and I hope our visit would cheer her up, even if it was only for the time we were there. It was a great chat. She took a ride is her wheel chair outside, ate her lunch, and showed us her room (including all her pictures). I cherish the time I spend with her, and I am glad I can now include Jake in those memories. He smiled and cooed at her, which made her proud and happy. These moments can never be replaced!

My Nana has prayed for Jake's safe arrival as long as everyone else has. A dear story me is one my mom told me. Nana was in the hospital while I was pregnant, and I couldn't visit because I was on bed rest. She was very sick, and the hospital priest came to ask her if there was anything he could do for her at that moment. In the middle of HER failing period of health, she sweetly asked him for one prayer. That prayer was for her unborn great grandson Jake, who she knew her Jessica wanted very badly to arrive, and arrive safely. It was the most selfless act she could have done. Her thoughts were on Jake only in her moment of need! When my mom concluded the story, I was full of tears. That is my Nana-precious!

Hanging out with Grandpa before the trip to Sherman.

Lets go Hunting.
Happy 1st Easter Jake!
The rain finally stopped today long enough for the ground to dry a bit to go Easter egg hunting. Jake did his best to navigate his Daddy to get his eggs. He even earned 2 dollars and 75 cents that we will put straight into his college fund. Unfortunately Jake can't eat the candy in the rest of the eggs, and so Mom and Dad are putting that straight into their tummies!

Dad, there is an egg right there on the cone, don't you see it.

All dressed up for church.

Happy 1st Birthday Landon!
Jake's buddy, Landon, had his 1st Birthday on Saturday. It was Elmo themed and very festive! Landon is crawling and attempting to walk around, which left Jake feeling left out. He so wanted to do what his friend was doing! He just wiggled excitedly to show his enthusiasm for the party! Vera took way more pictures, so we will have to post some more later when we get them from her. Happy Birthday Landon.

Opening his present from Jake.

Landon "loving the baby"! Jake too busy looking at the camera.

Hungry Anyone?

Tonight we sampled sweet potatoes after our rice cereal. I think we actually liked it better. As I am already a "big boy", I tried several times to feed myself with my spoon, creating an orange mixture of goo on my face. We couldn't help but document the experience!

Thanks Aunt Pookie!
Thanks to Aunt Pookie for my styling gear! We are watching the Tar Heels for you, and we can't wait to meet you! We look so cute in our outfit.

Chilling with Daddy, watching the game. Just what is a Tar Heel?
